BARCELONA PRÈ-À-PORTER IN PALAU ROBERT

In Barcelona you can find different exhibitions specially in Art, Design, Photography, Fashion  and much more, the whole city is a window to find out amazing things.

This post is a about a very nice and interesting exhibition of many years ago and fashion.
Palau Robert was the chosen place to develop this nice show.

This exhibition tries to explain 50 years of the recent history of prêt-à-porter fashion in Catalonia. This period saw the introduction and consolidation of the design and manufacture of mass-produced “ready to wear” clothing. It is structured around the material held in the Antoni de Montpalau Textile Collection .

This initiative consists of donated pieces and which was set up for the purpose of collecting and raising awareness of Catalonia textile and fashion heritage. Also you can see garments and other items that reflect the changes in tastes, design and trends in prêt-à-porter fashions over the last five decades to the present day.

You can find nice pieces of art made garments and discover why fashion is evolving year by year.

I recommend this exhibition as a must to visit if you are in town. It will be from July 2013 until July 2014, and remember that Raffa recommends this nice events because one of their main points of success is create art and convert this nice inspiration into a garment.

CAPS AND CHULLOS

In this post I would like to talk about caps and chullos , fashion accessories that most people wear specially in winter time.

Raffa proposes  each winter  this complements creating different designs inspired in the Peruvian Culture and combine them with alpaca fiber.
Colorful flowers are also another pattern that Raffa designers  propose for this fashionable garments.

Chullos are another style of cap ,  very well known all over  this years because most designers include them  in their collections.

The history of the chullos started a long time ago.  It is an Andean style of cap with earflaps, in Aymara is called ch´ullu . this cute garment is very practical to use in very low temperatures to cover the ears and keep warm the whole area of the head.

People can combine these  accessories  with gloves and scarfs
Remember to use caps and chullos  specially in winter season that is coming very soon!!

THE MODERN SHAWL: ELEGANCE AND SOPHISTICATION

Shawls are an elegant and seductive garment used to accompany and compliment our sophisticated outfit ensembles. Shawls are very versatile and can be used throughout the varying seasons. They are predominantly used to cover the shoulders, or to elegantly drape over a dress or gown. Shawls were originally introduced into modern society from the heritage rich lands of India, and this beautiful history is inspiration within our shawl garment pieces.

Raffa takes pride in each of our intricately woven shawls, and we have created many designs to accompany our stylish collections.  Our shawls are created using only the finest materials such as Alpaca, Cashmere, and Pima Cotton blends

Raffa Designers weave Artisan hand knitting and hand finishing into all of our garment pieces, including our warm and luxurious Alpaca Winter collection pieces, and our fresh and light Pima Cotton Spring collection pieces. This is why every Raffa garment is elite in its sophistication and fashion.

DESIGN IS THE KEY

Raffa produces different designs for women but also for men.

Inspiration on each collection have different topics and try to combine textures, fine materials, fashion and Culture.

Depends of the season Raffa creates patterns according to each market . Design is the key for all the collections.
Peruvian cultures are very impressive and have a lot of history. Raffa takes some elements of those Cultures and create exclusive designs.

Another themes of inspiration are animals typical from the Peruvian Jungle, like monkeys, owls or even dogs.

For women´s collection Raffa designers include in  their collections flowers typical from the Andes. Mixing colors and shapes, the result is these nice garments that are the favorites in each market.

Raffa also has a classic line with plane colors and very soft and fine materials such as baby alpaca and pimacotton to give exclusivity and elegance to the Brand, because Raffa is the Art Made Garment.

PONCHOS

A poncho , punchu in Quechua is an outer garment designed to keep the body warm or, if made from a watertight material, to keep dry during rain. Ponchos have been used by the Native American peoples of the Andes since pre-Hispanic times and are now considered typical South American garments.

The poncho, was one of the typical clothes of the Paracas, a Peruvian, Pre-Inca Culture around 500 B.C . The Poncho, nowadays, is commonly associated with the Americas as a traditional outfit for Andean people.

Many designers include Ponchos in their collections no matter it is summer or winter time.

Raffa creates different types of ponchos, using for summer time handmade Pima Cotton Ponchos or in winter time Alpaca Ponchos. The designers also include one color ponchos or ponchos with a design and combine them with different colors according to the fashion trends.

VISUAL MERCHANDISE AND WINDOW DECORATION

In this post I would like to talk about Raffa´s main topics to create their window decorations and their style to promote their points of sale.

When Raffa creates their first shop they try to emulate a mixture of vintage and minimalistic style.

Raffa Store Opening!

They preserve the white color in all of their shops and combine wrought  iron furnitures with glass to give a modern vision of the concept of their stores.

They try to decorate the shops in an artistic way putting only one piece of each design in exhibition

In their windows visual merchandisers try to create each month a concept inspired in fashion trends and combining special occasions, adding  artistic complements to emulate some stories  and inspiring the customers to enter inside the shop to see this nice garments and much more.

Depending on the season they can create a nice window view like mother´s day with some flowers and some art styles and using Raffa bags as complements of the brand.

The windows of Raffa  do not  have mannequins because they want to preserve a different identity using iron instruments to hang the sweaters and give an  art gallery atmosphere.
